In our 1st freestyle action Josh opened the day with a 5-1, 7-0 win in his
1st ever freestyle match . He would receive two forfeits and win his
second match 8- 4, 5-0 to take 1st place. Caleb began with a tough
match, losing the 1st period 5-2 but was actually tied 2-2 at one point.
He would score a 3 point takedown to open the 2nd period but would
allow a 3 pointer in losing 10-3. In his next match he would lose the first
period 4-1, but scored the last point which gave him confidence going
into the 2nd, which he would win 3-3 by virtue of having scored the last
points. The final period Caleb turned it on and scored a 5-1 win to win
his 1st freestyle match. In his next match he took the 1st period 8-5 but
lost the second period 8-6 when the referee failed to award 2 points for
exposure. Undaunted Caleb locked up a cradle and scored a fall in the
3rd. In his final match he fell behind 5 points in the first before he
scored a takedown, locking up another cradle and scoring the fall...
earning 2nd place. Not a bad effort for our first ever freestyle action.

resume on September 7 after school, officially from 4 pm - 6 pm. Open mat will continue
